You’re invited to a free exclusive private preview and artist talk with Philadelphia-based painter and Wharton alumna Pragya Gupta (WG'14), ahead of the public opening reception for her solo exhibition, The Places We Carry: A Search for Identity, at Cope House Gallery in Awbury Arboretum (Mt. Airy).
Pragya’s work explores what it means to navigate multiple—sometimes contradictory—identities while building a life across cultures and expectations. Through layered, emotionally driven paintings featuring fragmented figures, buried marks, and recurring geometric forms, she examines memory, masking, and the search for a self that feels integrated and true. Her practice brings together structure and intuition—“grids and circles” alongside expressive mark-making—creating space for viewers to reflect on their own “simultaneous truths.” You can learn more about her work here: www.pragyaguptastudio.com.
