This is the first of a series of mini-workshops on career change for Wharton alumni. All classes are welcome, although we are focusing on people with at least a few years of experience.

Cathy Goodwin, Ph.D., an experienced author and career consultant, will speak on the topic:

5 career change secrets most career coaches won't tell you.

Topics include:
  - career change vs job change; the mindset shift you need to make (it's not woo-woo - this is what holds back 90% of career change);
  - why everyone over 40 needs a side hustle; and the most important steps to take when your job goes away; and
  - why you won't benefit from tests (and what to do instead).

As the title of the talk implies, Cathy's approach is contrarian, controversial and intensely practical.

Cathy holds an MBA from Wharton (1975) and a PhD from UC Berkeley (marketing) She was a business school professor for over 20 years before establishing her own online business. Cathy has been interviewed as a career expert in the WSJ Online, Money Magazine, the Denver Post, and more.
