Welcome back to our series on career change! This is the first of a series of mini-workshops on career change for Wharton alumni for 2021.  All classes are welcome, although we are focusing on people with at least a few years of experience.

When embarking on a career change, the most important predictor of success (even more than your resume!) is the story you tell yourself. In the presentation we will explore the business psychology that affects the impact of your story.  Stories affect the way we're perceived and the way potential employers and stakeholders respond. They also influence the choices available to you and the way you overcome obstacles. You'll discover how to find and edit your own story, why too much positivity can be toxic, and practical tips to implement a successful career transition, even during turbulent times.

How To Tell The Story You Need For A Successful Career Change:  An Interview with Personal Development Coach Melanie Yost.

Melanie Yost is a personal development coach who works with business owners, professionals and executives in private practice and
via special programs. She will talk about the surprising ways changing your story can make it easier to reach career success.

Melanie is especially gifted at decoding puzzling business or personal situations, so if you've got questions about, "What's really going on here?", please rsvp and register for this program!

About our speaker:

Melanie Yost, LCSW, is a Personal Development Coach for business owners, corporate leaders, and independent professionals. They have the training and talent to be extremely successful, yet they find themselves stuck as they seek to reach new goals. Melanie has developed programs to help her clients understand, manage and shift their energy. As a result, they more easily overcome obstacles in their path and recognize opportunities that would otherwise be missed. Melanie has found that changing the stories we tell ourselves can lead to surprisingly fast changes in the outer world. Besides her one-to-one client work, Melanie runs a leadership workshop where participants work with horses on a farm in Virginia (on hiatus till spring). She lives in historic Fredericksburg, VA, with her husband, her college-age horse-loving daughter, and her 2 rescue mutts.
