Drinks, dinner, and discussion with Tim McDermott, Chief Business Officer of the Philadelphia Union of Major League Soccer, followed by the team’s game against the New York Red Bulls.
Speaker Biography:
Tim McDermott joined the Philadelphia Union as Chief Business Officer in 2016, the team’s eighth year of existence. In joining the area’s newest professional team, he has focused on increasing the team’s brand strength, fan base, and revenue opportunities. He has also become a significant player in the Chester real estate scene, leading the Union’s parent company in the acquisition of one mile of riverfront property adjacent to the team’s stadium.
McDermott is a veteran of the Philadelphia sports scene, having led marketing efforts for the 76ers and the Eagles before joining the Union. He has also worked for the Washington Capitals, San Diego Chargers, and Jacksonville Jaguars.
The Union currently sit in first place in the league’s Eastern Conference, with a 6-3 record.
