Join us for a casual networking foodie event, at Penn founded and owned Kayu Foods, located conveniently in Logan Square at 1717 Arch Street. Celebrate the beginning of Fall with exotic and local beers, and learn how they pair with some awesome cheeses and food accompaniments! Kayu is the newest addition to SC Hospitality's restaurant portfolio, which also includes Matt & Marie's.
Nicole Capp and Justin Sapolsky took their business plan for a modern Italian sandwich shop into the real world just after their graduation from the Wharton School. Their business plan made it into the finals of Wharton's business-plan competition.
Their discussion will include:
- Opportunities and challenges in building a brick and mortar business
- Matt & Marie's location strategy and growth in Philadelphia to date (4 units in a little over 2 years)
- Transitioning from the Corporate workplace to small business and entrepreneurship
