February 16th: FROM CORPORATE TO SELF-EMPLOYED: HOW YOUR SIDE HUSTLE CAN BE YOUR KEY TO CAREER FREEDOM

In any job these days, change is a matter of 'when," not "if." MBO Partners 10th annual report on the "state of independents" found that 48% of US adults are currently making some or all of their income through means outside of "traditional employment" either by force or by choice, and expect that number to rise to 54% by 2025.

But when all you've ever known is a j-o-b, entrepreneurship can feel much more daunting than it needs to be even the most accomplished professional!

The truth is: if you're like most executives and professionals, you already have most of the ingredients...but the wrong outlook on how to assemble them and what it really looks like to start and begin growing your a business that can support you through the next big economic downturn (or dig yourself out of the current one).

Alex Hillman has been there. During the mid-2000's economic downturn, he left a corporate job to do his own thing. After a couple of years running a solo business, he created what has become Philadelphia’s oldest coworking space. Since then he has guided thousands of mid-career professionals and executives on the path to entrepreneurship.

Alex will present his own roadmap for getting off to a fast start. He’ll talk about how to choose the opportunity that’s right for you, how to avoid the most common newbie mistakes, and specific suggestions for finding clients (even if marketing’s not your thing).

About our speaker:

Alex is the founder of Indy Hall, the oldest coworking space in Philadelphia and a global leader in the coworking industry. He is also a partner of Stacking the Bricks, an educational resource for creative entrepreneurs that has helped thousands of people start and grow their own business.
