From the beginning, Vanguard has set a high standard of excellence, not only for their financial leadership, but for their character leadership as well. From their inception, Jack Bogle (Chairman & CEO 1975-1996) believed “Even one person can make a difference.” This sentiment was continued by Jack Brennan (Chairman & CEO 1996 – 2008) who expressed “Character comes first.” As only the third Chairman and CEO in Vanguard’s 40 year history, Bill McNabb and has taken Vanguard to even greater heights. Some achievements worth mentioning include $3 trillion in global assets, 20 million investors, and more than 14,000 employees in the US and abroad.
This evening will include a dialogue with Mr. McNabb, followed by a panel discussion moderated by our own Jeff Klein (Wharton MBA Class of 2005), Executive Director Wharton Leadership Program. Panelists, also Wharton Alumni, will share their leadership role in supporting Vanguard’s three core values: Integrity, Focus and Stewardship. During this time, there will be an opportunity to ask questions and learn even more about how good guys finish first.
