The Wharton MBA Career Management office believes that career development is a lifelong process.  Our goal is to provide Wharton alumni with valuable resources and information to effectively navigate through the career management process and facilitate successful career transitions. Alumni Career Management Resources

JOB SEARCH RESOURCES

 

Alumni Job Board – The Alumni Job Board is a searchable database comprised of over 1500 high quality postings annually from employers and executive search firms. 

 

Wharton Alumni Resume BookMBA Career Management has partnered with MBA Focus to create a resume service that provides MBA alumni visibility to hiring professionals. Prescreened employers will contact candidates of interest directly. Over 1,300 alumni have already completed a profile and confidentiality is assured as a passive job seeker. 

 

Advising Session MBA alumni can schedule an appointment with a career advisor to discuss their job search and how to leverage Wharton resources toward achievement of short- and long-term career goals. To schedule a phone or in-person advising appointment go to the NEW Alumni Appointment Scheduler at: http://apps.wharton.upenn.edu/scheduler/MBACMAlumni. Be sure to list the phone number that a staff member can contact you the day of the appointment and the items you would like to discuss. You will receive an automated email confirmation when you sign-up.

 

Career Coach Referral List – For Wharton alumni who are seeking career counseling, to navigate job transitions, improve networking and further professional development, we have compiled a referral listing of career coaches and negotiated a discounted rate for coaching services. These professionals have extensive backgrounds in helping individuals and corporations with career assessment, career planning, career transition, and career development and workplace adjustment. Contact information and biographies of each career coach are available on the website, and they are available for phone consultation, or can refer you to a colleague in your local area. 

 

Executive Search Firms – For alumni with significant experience, Executive Search Firms can be a helpful job search resource. For information about the types of executive search firms and how to best leverage them in a job search, review the “Executive Search” link on our alumni website.

WetFeet Industry Guides - MBA Career Management is pleased to offer FREE access to over 50 industry insider guides, industry profiles, and career resources.

 

FactivaFactiva is provided as a service to MBA alumni of the Wharton school by MBA Career Management and Alumni Affairs. Factiva is a comprehensive collection of business data compiled by Dow Jones and Reuters.This resource provides the ability to cross search over 12,000 website and keeps you informed about business-driving news across industries.

 

Career Search© – An extensive database that includes over one million companies along with contact names, addresses, telephone numbers, and a variety of company background information.  The database can be searched according to industry type, location, and keywords.

 

ExecuNet – Recognized as the Internet's most comprehensive resource for effective career management, ExecuNet offers services exclusively for executives and senior-level managers like Wharton alumni with salaries above $100,000. ExecuNet provides job postings, career search knowledge and guidance, and networking opportunities. In

addition, through Wharton’s contract with ExecuNet, alumni can access the Wharton-specific ExecuNet monthly Career Letter that reports on the job market outlook.

 

Interviewstream© – This web-based program (in conjunction with webcam technology) is designed to produce the feel of a real interview, in a non-threatening environment. This resource gives you the invaluable experience of watching yourself answer pre-determined interview questions, so you can assess your interview effectiveness both in content and delivery.

 

NETWORKING

 

Wharton Alumni LinkedIn Group - Wharton is pleased to announce the launch of the official Wharton Alumni LinkedIn group “Wharton School Alumni” and we invite you to join. LinkedIn.com, the premier professional networking service, provides an outstanding opportunity to connect and collaborate with fellow Wharton alumni, presenting an ideal forum in which to explore new and trusted contacts within the School’s ever-evolving alumni network. Use the link above to sign up; you must be degreed Wharton alumnus to participate.

 

Wharton Global India Mentoring Network - The Wharton Alumni Association in India has begun a powerful initiative, the Global Wharton India Mentoring Network comprised of Wharton alumni Industry Captains and alumni volunteers who will support alumni and students interested in working in India. Through this web-based interface, the Industry Captains will collect job, career advice and mentoring requests, and then coordinate with alumni volunteers in the network to meet those requests. The network will also encourage alumni to post jobs on our MBA Job Board as well.

  • Reach out to candidates: The Wharton Resume Books and Wharton Alumni Resume book are searchable databases that allow you to target candidates based on specific criteria of your choice.
  • Post a position: The MBA Job Board is a free resource for employers looking to target our 1600+ current MBA students or 84,000+ MBA alumni across the globe.
  • Host an event: Consider visiting campus for an Employer Information Session or club-related event, or invite students to your site as part of a Career Trek visit.
